China National Nuclear Corporation
China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC in English, China National Nuclear Corporation or CNNC in Chinese) is funded by the Chinese state, approved by the State Council and directly managed by the central government.
On July 1, 1999, China National Nuclear Corporation was established by reorganizing the ten major military industrial groups on the basis of the original five major administrative military industrial corporations. On January 31, 2018, with the approval of the State Council, China National Nuclear Corporation and China Nuclear Engineering Corporation implemented a reorganization, and China Nuclear Engineering Corporation was transferred as a whole free of charge.
China National Nuclear Corporation is composed of more than 100 enterprises, institutions and scientific research institutes, with about 180,000 employees, including 36,000 professional and technical personnel, and 16 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
In November 2018, CNNC vigorously developed the application industry of nuclear technology, expanded the application of nuclear technology in medical, biological, agricultural, environmental protection and other fields, and some application products went international. [2] In April 2020, it was selected into the list of "Science and Technology Reform Demonstration Enterprises" by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. It was rated as an A-level enterprise in the 2020 performance evaluation of the heads of central enterprises.
On July 13, 2021, the Linglong No. 1 (ACP100), a multifunctional modular small pressurized water reactor independently developed by China National Nuclear Corporation with independent intellectual property rights, was officially started at the Changjiang Nuclear Power Base in Hainan.
