CRRC Corporation Limited (abbreviated as "CRRC" in Chinese and "CRRC" in English) is a listed company established by the merger of China CNR Corporation Limited and China South Locomotive and Rolling Stock Corporation Limited on the basis of equality, with the approval of the State Council and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council. CRRC was successfully listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on June 8, 2015, with the approval of the China Securities Regulatory Commission. As of 2016, CRRC Corporation Limited's products have been exported to 101 countries and regions around the world, covering 11 market regions in six continents. From 2011 to 2014, CRRC's overseas contract amounts were US$1.925 billion, US$3.588 billion, US$3.96 billion and US$6.747 billion, respectively, with an average annual growth of 55.7%.
On July 23, 2015, CRRC announced that it had won the largest subway order in history. In November 2015, the first EMU exported to Europe by CRRC Corporation Limited successfully ran in Macedonia. On December 10, 2015, 15 trains and 90 "Olympic subways" produced by CRRC for the Rio Metro Line 4 project in Brazil were officially put into operation. In the early morning of March 10, 2016, the Chicago Transit Authority of the United States officially announced that CRRC had won an order for 846 subway cars from Chicago and would build a factory there.
In May 2021, the Poverty Alleviation Office of CRRC Corporation Limited was recognized by the Gansu Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government as an "Advanced Group in Poverty Alleviation in Gansu Province".
