Here’s a detailed guide for summer maintenance of CNC drilling machines: 1. Environmental Control   Summer brings high ambient temperatures, so CNC drilling machines should be placed in well-ventilated areas away from direct sunlight. If workshop temperatures rise excessively, install cooling equipment like air conditioners or fans to keep the environment below 30°C. Elevated temperatures can compromise the stability of the CNC system and shorten the lifespan of electronic components.   Meanwhile, maintain a dry working environment—moisture can cause rust on equipment parts and short circuits in electrical systems. Use dehumidifiers to keep relative humidity between 40% and 60%.   2. Component Inspection and Maintenance   Guideways and Ball Screws**: Summer air carries more dust, which can accumulate on guideways and ball screws, reducing operational precision. Regularly clean these components of dust, iron chips, and debris, then apply an appropriate amount of lubricant. Choose lubricants based on equipment specifications; in summer, slightly higher viscosity lubricants are recommended to ensure effectiveness. Additionally, check for excessive clearance in guideways and screws and adjust promptly if needed.   Spindle System**: The spindle is a critical component, and summer heat can cause overheating. Monitor spindle temperatures regularly—shut down immediately if overheating occurs. Inspect spindle bearing lubrication and add grease periodically. Ensure proper sealing to prevent coolant or dust from entering the spindle, which could disrupt operation.   Cooling System**: Summer heat accelerates coolant degradation, reducing cooling efficiency. Replace coolant weekly (or as needed) after thoroughly cleaning debris from the system. Check that the cooling pump operates normally to ensure smooth coolant circulation, and clear any clogs in cooling pipes promptly.

Regularly check oil levels and quality: top up if levels are low, and replace immediately if oil deteriorates (e.g., emulsifies or turns black). When replacing oil, fully drain the old oil and refill with the manufacturer-specified type. Store oils in a cool, dry place to prevent heat-induced degradation.   4. Electrical System Protection   Summer thunderstorms require robust lightning protection for the CNC system. Verify that grounding systems are functional, with a ground resistance below 4Ω to prevent lightning damage to electrical components. Inspect electrical cabinet wiring for looseness or aging, and clean cabinet fans and filters regularly to maintain ventilation and prevent overheating. In humid weather, avoid frequent startups/shutdowns to reduce moisture-related malfunctions.   5. Tool and Fixture Inspection   Tool and fixture performance directly impacts machining quality and efficiency. In summer, check tools for wear regularly and replace them promptly to maintain precision. Ensure fixtures are securely fastened to minimize workpiece errors. Clean tools and fixtures after use and apply anti-rust oil to prevent corrosion.   6. Regular Cleaning   Perform thorough cleanings of the CNC drilling machine, including its exterior, internal components, and electrical cabinet. Use a soft cloth for surface cleaning (avoid corrosive detergents). For internal parts, disconnect power first, then use compressed air to remove dust.
